I am embarking on a self-devised program that will get me back in touch with my creative side and get me back out of touch with my whiny loser side.

Yesterday evening I heard a very loud car accident right outside our apartment. I went outside to gawk, but immediately felt sick and guilty about it, so I didn't end up seeing much. There were crowds forming within two minutes. One car hit another car, it ended up in a yard, and I saw a person laying on the ground. I think they are ok, though ( Read more... )

I just read something from a blogger on Slate.com that very accurately describes my feelings about the bridge.  He (Mitch from "Shot in the Dark," apparently) admitted that he had never found the bridge itself very attractive.  Compared to the other bridges nearby, it was actually quite ugly; "a delivery van in a parade of Dusenbergs," he called it ( Read more... )

My sister Lauren is taking Algebra as a summer course at the U.  Her class is every Monday and Wednesday at 6 pm.  My parents have driven her to class every single week since mid-June.  Every Monday and Wednesday, one or both of my parents drop her off, and then cross over the river on 35W a few minutes after 6 ( Read more... )

Today, I found $140 in a book called "Lost Treasures of Persia."  And a few checks written out to something called "Alter Fashion."  They were from 1999.  Threw away checks, pocketed cash.  It was a happy thing.

I just went to a little art opening at this little gallery in Northeast Minneapolis.  I really like Northeast Minneapolis.  Dark little neighborhoods mixed in with big industrial factories mixed in with artsy little bars and galleries and theatres.  It's kind of unnerving, especially at night, but I like it ( Read more... )
