I don't want to be discouraging, but I had that flooring as a kid and it peeled up after a couple years.
Maybe my parents bought a shitty brand...

We got the expensive vinyl flooring .. stuff is like $50 a box and we also did a major job making sure there was nothing down on the floor before we stuck them. I had to take one off cuz I noticed a little chip in it and it was hell to remove, even after being placed for only 20 minutes -- had to get the hammer. I vacuumed, swept, swiffered and even put tape down to make sure no extra dust and dirt was on the pre-apply.
Maybe whomever put your tiling down wasn't so careful? My mom had the same kind and it lasted the entire time she was at the house, and even had it at my gram's in the kitchen and it lasted 15 years until she recently ripped it up. What we bought also got a lifetime warantee on it so if it does come up we get our money back and/or a replacement.
Trust me, I know what I'm doing :)

Oh, I don't doubt you at all.
I just remember my parents one peeling off and sliding in parts.
They probably bought them at honest ed's or something.
