I've been thinking a lot about the SCA lately. Wondering if I should let my membership lapse. I haven't done anything except one demo and one fighter practice since moving here and I honestly don't miss it much. The weather is miserably cold and wet which discourages camping and Indian garb. Plus William's ex is very active and rather acidic, or so

My SCA life is rather limited here as well. Still do about 5 or 6 events a year (at most)--hope you stay active enough to join us at GWW next year!

Might I suggest you do a "courtesan" event on your own--it could be by invite only--gather up the other ladies in your area that are interested and do it at some larger event where you can avoid the gal in question--and only invite those you wish to be there. Pull out the stops--invite your Royals--have fun with it but do it on your terms! Rhyli, the Yellow Veil co-founder here (and my best friend) and I do an Courtesan After-Party each year at our 12th Night celebration in the West (held in a hotel). I dare say it's a tradition for folks now and one of the best parties going at the event. But we do it OUR way.

I like the idea but don't have any of my gear here. Plus I don't know anyone to invite, just the two ladies on the list and they seem even newer than me.
