I am just loving this story! At first the stinger part threw me but I came around quickly enough. All the characters are so well developed and shining through--I'm loving them all. I loved Martha's mom (and I haven't even met her yet here in the States!) understanding a bit about Captain Jack. And I really enjoyed the Doctor's dilemma! Can't wait for more!

I wish I could just edit my comment, but alas! I wanted to add that while I really loved the Doctor's dilemma, it did seem to come from left field. Was there a part that was edited out that might have eased us into it a little more? Just trying to be helpful :-) I went back and read the last part--but there weren't any signs of him lusting or even thinking un-time-lordly thoughts--he was so composed as she changed clothes. And now he wants sex (yay!) but it felt sudden :-) I only concrit cause I love it so :-)

I did do the scene through his point of view, so that you could see the scar really sets him off. He had heard that she almost died, but that's the first time he sees the actual proof, and that gets him thinking he has to make a decision when it comes to Rose, and not just going through the motions like he has been doing. That version didn't make it quite clear what Rose was saying or what was happening, so I did a rewrite.

But I can't wait to know what's going to happen to Rose and her Doctor...

The Doctor is, as Will Smith said, "the dumbest smart person I've ever met". I don't know exactly what he's doing but I'm getting the vibe that he's doing one of those 'for your own good things without consulting, or even telling, you first'. And that just really pisses me off because it's Rose Tyler, Defender of the Earth. 200+ years and she's loved him for most of them, enough that she is satisfied and content with just being with him. And he's going to try and engineer some cliched happily ever after for her. Without her consent. That's just demeaning to her. If he really does it, then he doesn't deserve her.

...I'm hoping I'm wrong but then again I'm also hoping for lots of groveling.

And can't you tell I'm unhealthily involved and obsessed?

Either way, great chapter.

Damn I wish you could revise these things. One last thing...for someone who has such a negative/disregard for sex he sure thinks about it a lot. More than rose seems to, at any rate. Methinks he doth protest too much.

I just caught up reading this fic and I must say that it's fantastic! The characterizations are spot on for all characters, especially when they are around each other. I also enjoy the way you give us glimpses of the past and bring us back to the present!

I can't wait to see what happens next!!
