The wonders of having a backyard never cease to amaze me.
This week's revelation: grasshoppers! Little ones, less than an inch long, adorable!
They make a cool "poing" sound when they launch from the side of the tent.
I didn't even know that grasshoppers lived in Washington! -

A shrubbery!
We will be digging up several Photinia shrubs.
Want them?
They get huge -- 10'-15' tall. They are usually used as a big hedge around here. They have red and green leaves (the new leaves are red).
They have their uses, but not directly under our powerlines, cutting off our front yard from the street! -
