My last day of work was today, and now I feel so strange and lost and miserable. It's just that my job was one of the first things I had to leave, and it made me very suddenly realize how difficult it's going to be to leave behind my home, my family, my friends, my life as I have built and know it.  Is there really ever a way we can do a sufficient job of saying goodbye?

Growing up is so strange. difficult, too. and sort of fun sometimes. but does it ever occur to anyone else that someday everything that seems so huge right now will matter very little or not at all? Isn't it a comfort?
