I'm far from a road warrior. In terms of flying, it'll likely go on a business trip in November, then to DC for Thanksgiving.

However, part of the appeal is to start taking it on the bus with me every day (or at least some days). So it will matter...

My experience taking a laptop on the bus with me in Pittsburgh was that I spent more time wishing I could do it than doing it, and a lot more time needing some online resource than having access to same.

In the modern age, with the right cell phone and such, it's easy to solve the second problem, but the first problem is a bit bigger.

You know my usual suggestion: get a Thinkpad. (Even though I no longer work for big blue, and they are no longer are part of said behemoth).

But between the two, I'd go with the HP. My experience with the pair has been that the HP has held up better.
