Job-hunting is possibly the most depressing activity on the face of the planet. Perhaps under its surface too.
Nothing can beat the endless blank smiles as you hopefully hand across your CV knowing full well they're sizing you up and thinking "More meat for the call centre grinders then."

I just got ID'd
... For chocolate fudge cake...
This was a shade surprising, not least because I haven't been ID'd in years, but mostly because all I was buying was the Chocolate Fudge Cake. Even more so since I'd already been served at the bar and had a pint sat back at my table.
The law is dumb. Very very dumb. -
And then, suddenly, there was crap.
Yes, my landlady is going through one of her 'active' periods. As a result there is crap all over the house. Including a nice heap, including two beds and a bookcase, right at the bottom of the stairs, in front of the door. Whilst its technically possible to reach both stairs and door, I'm not sure any sane person would attempt it.

My Rant
I decided as I was in town already that I may as well pop into the O2 shop and see if I could get my phone upgraded to replace my slowly failing one, it seemed about the right time for this.
And it was. Yay.
So I picked out the phone I was to get went through the forms, had my bank card photocopied, only to discover that the shop didnt have that ( Read more... ) -
British Rail: Dependable As Ever
My two hour train journey just took me five hours.
We sat at Peterborough Station for an hour. Trains to Kings Cross were pulling in on the platform next to us, but we couldn't run out and swap trains because all the doors were locked.
The Victoria --> Brighton train just went via Sutton(???) and Three Bridges - twice.
I'm not a happy bunny.
