'But I am not a prize to be won, Damon, and I think you need to understand that.' She's not being cruel, she's being honest, and she believes that Damon needs to hear this. That Stefan should hear this, too.

uhm, i just want to agree with every single thing you have said and pretty much repeat it to all the people telling me they hate elena because of how she treats the salvatores. as in every single person here is perfect and never had complications in life!
and jfc, takling about caroline being in a filler year! so perfect! it's just the right way to put it, and it makes sense.
We watch this show for the relationships between *people* not the relationships between perfect, moral and always-right beings. yesyesyes! i know that there is such a strong tone of this in the show, and it draws you in with no doubt, but a lot of people get so caught up in the distinct line of right and wrong that they forget about everything in between. they're quick to judge and accuse characters of doing the wrong thing, but they don't really take the time to remember that some of these people on the show are supposed to be kids. teenagers. people who are growing up and going ( ... )

I adore your work so I was determined to read on though, admittedly, I have not been Elena's biggest fan as of late. Regardless, the story was well written and the perspective on her was insightful. Can't wait to read what you cook up next!

And the hint on another love between Damon and Stefan was fantastic.
I like how Elena acknowledges her own faults, but doesn't feel so much guilt anymore. Everyone has faults.
I truly believe that the three of them could work out a three-way-relationship.
Great story!!

elena is totally her own person, and a lot of people just use her as someone to ship with one brother. like, 'elena should be with him,' or, 'not, he needs her more!' what about her? what about what she wants and needs as a woman? what if it's neither of them?
originally stefan never was going to be in it, it was going to stop at them going to sleep, but i couldn't end it there. it felt unfinished, i felt like i was going against what i thought all over again. stefan needed to come in, it needed to be resolved and both brothers needed to listen to her talk.
young innocent minds? ;) hahaha, it wasn't too obvious, was it? i mean, it wasn't ( ... )

And I love that you don't hate Elena or bash on her after 3x14. don't get me wrong, there's was that flash of fury like, 'elena, how dare you!' and then i sort of realized what i was thinking and was like - this girl is trying hard here to do what she thinks is right and keep everybody safe, not just herself, because we all know she's the first one to offer herself up.
i'm so glad you liked this, i really am. i hope to write more, too! :)
