So I quit/retired/went on an indefinite LOA from derby. I wanted to make sure my team didn't hold on to yet another skater who couldn't commit to the team. Drafts were coming up and I just don't know if I can skate next year. I want to. I like to skate. Re: derby... I took an LOA because I want to give myself the possibility of coming back. I know a lot of my issues with PLAYING derby are health related - depression/lack of motivation and energy, being a fatty and out of shape, and these fucking shin splints. But I was already pulling away from the league drama as far as the administrative side was concerned. But you're right, I do love my team, I should see if I can find a way to support them. We have a bench coach, and I'm not really a pep talk giver, but maybe I can help somehow ( ... )
