Porn spam in communities!!!!

I"ve had to leave 2 communities that I've been a member of since I started on LJ because of porn being posted from some russian (apparently). This is most disturbing!!

There was a rash of these porn spam posts a month or so ago.

These are trolls who tend to target communities whose maintainers are not paying attention. I notified several of the maintainers of communities I belong to and the posts were removed.

A couple of them had maintainers whose personal journals were deleted and purged and one of those I just removed myself because the community was pretty much dead anyway and the other I notified LJ abuse because there was still a fair amount of activity.

The abuse team ended up signing that community maintainership over to me. So unless you're ready for that, yeah, just leave the community.

Damn trolls! :(

I have had spammage on my personal LJ on some really old public postings.

Just blocked, deleted and reported them..

And went to Friends Only ;)

I haven't seen the porn (fortunately) but I have had some gratuitous advertising tacked on as comments to some of my posts.

Dang!! The only Russian spam I've seen had to do with cars. Why do I miss out on all the good stuff?? lol
