Oh sweetie I'm so sorry. If I were in Wisconsin I'd find a way to get to you and buy you some Lazy Janes. That always seems to make my week better.
I know it sounds harsh and I can't possibly understand the complexities of your relationship but you seriously need to crack down on her being stupid. If you're making the money you need to cut back her budget. Force her to pack a damn lunch rather than buying one everyday. I know I'm making it sound like the easiest thing in the world but it seems to me like you two have some serious talking to do.
I'm sorry there's not a way to help. If you're ever online and I'm online please, PLEASE feel free to talk to me.
I really hope your birthday goes better than it sounds like it will.
our contribution to the monthly budget is somewhere around a 45/55 split. That isn't really the issue. Its how much we each decide to take out of it. I consider it normal to consult her on nonessential purchases, regardless of the amount. I establish an agreed time and place regarding such purchases. If she wants to make a nonessential purchase, she brings it up while we are busy and distracted and assumes that because I haven't immediately said NO WAY DAMN IT that I'm agreeing. Because she vocalized her desire, she thinks it means we talked about it.
As far as packing a lunch, I have done that. As soon as anything happens to introduce irregularity to our weekly pattern, including getting ahead on our bills, she jumps off it and starts buying again.
Otherwise, I appreciate the offer. What is Lazy Janes, aside from a great place for breakfast on Willy Street?
Its pretty much just that. Though their lunch is spectacular too. It always kinda makes me think I'm taking breakfast in someone's grandma's attic. I've been there so much alot of the people know me and I just always feel, relaxed there.
