I'd love to have a bird feeder but I think someone in my apartment block would complain. Because of teh shit.

My parents live in South Africa and my dad kept a list inside his bird book of all the (45) species he spotted in the garden. At one point I'd had an argument with my mother so I wrote on his list "sour-faced nitpicker"....

At least there's no doubt that your sprog comes by his sense of humour honestly!

The jury's still out with regard to whether we'll be able to tolerate the mess our feathered visitors may make of our porch.

Difficult to tell - there's only been 5 hours of daylight and that was overcast. There isn't any white stuff on the ground so I can say if there IS snow, it's not lying. There's a lot of wind. And the sound of the waves.

Bleak and grey. But I like it :)

Just yesterday, John was musing about what you'd think of our bourgeois domesticity. The bird feeders are a very nice addition to the back porch. Wish you'd find a nice conference to attend in Austin so you could come for a visit.

Somewhere we've got a hummingbird feeder that we can dig out when it gets to be spring...
