LJ: You're using the old version of the Friends page - switch to the new one and try to customize it.
Me: 'And try to customize it'? Really? Does not inspire me with desire to switch.

You feel LJ is laughing behind its hand when it says that. 'Haha, try to customise it. No really, go ahead and try! Heh.'

That's it exactly.

Sigh.

I am feeling the same way about it! Leave me alone. No more new tricks.

I love your icon! (Much, much more than I love lj at this point.)

My reaction too -- unintentional truth!

If livejournal put as much energy into making their service awesome as they do into finding things to break, imagine how great it would be.

I'd have been happy if they'd just put the effort into maintaining what we had here.

Hi! Hope you're okay.

*LEAPS AND POUNCES*

Hey, you! How's tricks?

"Try and customize it," indeed. I'm sure most tech support people think of the rest of us as developmentally disabled but yes, am less than charmed by their cheerful patient encouragement. :)

Hope things are well!

Hullo, you!

I'm well. Hope you are, as well.

I don't have much new or different to report on myself. My extracurricular energies are still going into Alternity (year five!), but I'm making time to book the itinerary for a rather wonderful trip to London and Paris with my in-laws (footing the bill) and one of nieces. I get to go as the translator in France and interpreter in England. I've been taking French lessons since September in hopes that I'll have knocked the rust off my conversational skills. I'm not panicking yet, but let's say that I'm still pretty rough. I'll settle for ready.

Sorry for a late reply -- clearly I am wandering on a long leash and only occasionally stray back to the old familiar turf. Actually I came across something by Amy Clampitt on the theme of intermittent connections, and will post it shortly in (not quite belated) acknowledgment of poetry month . . .

The trip (and interpreter role) sounds like great fun -- though I guess you may have gone and come back by now? "Ready" can be as rough as it likes -- l'audace, c'est tout! :)
