It's probably 90% backbreaking toil, and 10% fluffer. Everything that's "nailed down" is stuff that I did or had done. Of the furnishings, almost everything is mine, except what's in the den.

And the decorative bits (the plants, the artwork, etc.), that's all the fluffer. The only artwork of mine that made the cut is the red painting above my bed.

I'm renting the stuff from him, but I am so tempted to find out how much he would charge to do interior decorating. Because, damn, he did a fine job with my staging.

That's what a good stager does, I'm discovering. He takes what you've got, gets rid of all the clutter, rearranges it in an optimal way, and finds the things that will really highlight the best features of your property. I fully expect to get back 10 times what I paid for his services when my place is sold.

Well, there was a middle period where I tried to get "creative". The less said about that, the better.

I do miss my purple bedroom and red kitchen, though.

Dude, that's awesome.

(I can hear Chad wishing to rip up our downstairs carpet now . . . not to mention redoing the kitchen.)

If it helps at all, there's nothing easier than installing laminate flooring. Putting together a jigsaw puzzle is more difficult.

Oh, we've got nice hardwood underneath, but we also have the Best Emmy ever and FutureBaby to think about.

Amazing job Lara! I think the fluffer did a great job but you gave him a lot to work with. Love the lights and the floors - feel like visiting Boston any time soon?

I did appreciate the tips you gave. That was way back when I first bought this place and actually had the ability to change the place I lived in for the first time.

then of course I watched like 8000 episodes of Flip That House, and got cocky. It seems to have worked out, though.
