I didn't read the whole entry because I didn't have time this morning. But, did you know that the United States does not have an official language. Anyone would assume that it would be English, but if you want to get into the nitty gritty of it, no officially spoken language was ever chosen. Could be because the US is a melting pot, and that is an expression of our open arms to other cultures. Just food for thought.
More food for thought. Be it that the US has no mention of an official language in the constitution. Federal Law states that all laws must be in the commen language of english. (RCW 1365.213) Fderal Buildings Must have all postings in the commen language of english (RCW 1365.335) There are several others but I'm not going to type them up look them up. But all offical documents must be in english.
The English language shall be the official language of the United States. As the official language, the English language shall be used for all public acts including every order, resolution, vote, or election, and for all records and judicial proceedings of the Government of the United States and the governments of the several States.
The Government of the United States shall preserve and enhance the role of English as the official language of the United States of America. Unless specifically stated in applicable law, no person has a right, entitlement, or claim to have the Government of the United States or any of its officials or representatives act, communicate, perform or provide services, or provide materials in any language other than English. If exceptions are made, that does not create a legal entitlement to additional services in that language or any language other than English.
hey, i'd just like to say that i agree with most what you said... and its nice to see that some people, especially from our age group, are still not afraid to express those opinions.
