The main events of any note since my last post relate to another busy social/cultural weekend.

Busy busy busy
It's been pretty busy since I last got round to updating, with quite a few social and cultural things going on.

This and that
It's been a bit quiet since my last update, without an awful lot happening worth diarising. Work trundles on reasonably smoothly, and I expect to be able to take the weekends off on either side of half term, although I will have to do some stuff in the middle to catch up on hours, as my contract variation letter came through and it turned out they ( Read more... ) -
January stock-take/round-up
I ended up not getting round to doing a diary-type entry on Sunday, but I guess I can get the week's new things into a January round-up/stock-take sort of thing.

More of the same/back to the future
Week three of my rebuild and recuperate plan went pretty well, by which I mean that I got an appropriate amount of paid work done, including hunting down a new laptop, caught up on a couple of overdue chores and have managed to take a third consecutive weekend off. Key week two discovery: Were it financially plausible in the long term, I could definitely get used to having this little work to do. The current plan involves sticking with just the current job and current schools until the end of January, for re-grouping/re-building...but I already have one extra meeting confirmed for February, and there will ( Read more... ) -
Starting as I hope to go on
The first 'week' back at work turned out to be mercifully low-impact. There wasn't much of anything urgent in job-I'm-keeping, and I managed to sort things out in job-I-quit to the point where I was able to send a handover email on Friday (only a week after my official leaving date) and go in to return my laptop, keys, pass etc. This meant that I ( Read more... ) -

Term is over, at long last, in the third and last of my schools. This means I get a week where all three of my schools are closed at the same time. I suspect I'll end up working on at least some of the next nine days, as I'm still way behind with things in one job, but I think I may manage to grab slightly more than two consecutive days off for the ( Read more... )
