Little Anthony Robert Jon was born on Aug. 27, 2008 at 1:44am. He weighed 7 lbs, 5 oz, and was 20 inches long. He's a really sweet little guy, and he hardly ever cries, except when he gets mad at me for changing his diaper. All in all, we're doing great and getting used to each other. My Grandma died, and my other Grandma went back into the hospital, for what I'm sure will be the last time, on the same day. ...you've burned my tongue off again. Since when is "real" Mexican food defined as being literally too hot to eat? That's ALL there is down here. At least living here has built up my tolerance of "hot" foods. "Mild" to these people is hotter than any "extreme hot" I've ever had anywhere in the rest of the country. 7. "Schoenhauser Allee" by Wladimir Kaminer- a Russian guy who moved to Berlin about 15 years ago and started writing books in German. He's generally pretty funny- his books are mostly just short anecdotes and stories about his own experiences and things that happen in Berlin- but sometimes he gets into political histories in Berlin and Russia. 6. "Married to the Military" by Meredith Leyva. Incredibly informative and helpful- and written by a military spouse for military spouses, so easy to understand, too. This book would have absolutely no value for women NOT married to the military- but I think every new military wife should read it, because it was incredibly helpful. Much better ( Read more... )

5. "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. Re-read from high school, and definitely worth it. Especially the short little "critical note" at the end. Reminded me why I love studying lit, actually. The critical essay/note, not the book. :) A lot different than I remembered, and still incredibly disturbing. On to happier things now!! :)
