Can anybody imagine what it’s like to start life anew at age 40? To lay down one’s habits and believes and to learn what it is like to be an autonomous person with wishes, dreams and feelings? I know how you feel, because I have been down that road myself too - although the details of our situations differ.

You have shown to be a very strong woman, you are now more aware of what you want (and don't want). It takes that strength for a long time to get where you want to be, but I know you can do it!

A less strong person would have given up, but you keep on fighting to get there. Big kudos for that, girl! You can do a hell of a lot if you set your mind to it!

And if the going gets tough, you have your friends right there at your side.

Thanks for this sweet reply. And yes, I know my friends are there for me. Two weeks ago for example two of them surprised me by throwing a belated birthday party for me! Unfortunately, many of the people invited did not have time, but still, a sweet move of them. I sure wish, my friends weren't scattered all over the Netherlands and Germany. Would be nice to just hop over and have a cup of tea together. But as it is...I can't complain. I got friends and that's all that matters...
