Say you're using the flashlight-katana. Your fortunes have led you to a fight in a coal mine at midnight, as is often the case. You raise the flashlight-katana over your head to strike your foe, but in the instant you do the light is no longer beaming toward your foe but spraying out behind your back. What good is it then?
And suppose you bring the flashlight-knife to a gun fight?
I have plans for more books but no plans for a stopping point. The next volume though will only have Conrad in it for a few pages as the focus leaves Coeur du Lac.
no stopping sounds like a great idea, whoohoo! and so does the whole going away from Conrad, and building Northworld some more. I think it's a fantastic setting.

You may have a point about the sword, but likewise what if you wanted to hold your sword with both hands? Then where does the flashlight go?

Flashlight plus bayonet! That's exactly what they needed in "the Descent!"

I'm glad you noticed the reach around, he's doing this because robots are jerks and girls love them to a disproportionately.
