Dr. Sketchy's Amsterdam 26-6-2010
I found out last week that Molly Crabapple, the inventor of Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School was going to be in Amsterdam this saturday for a signing and mini Dr.Sketchy's sesion. Initials BB
I've been on a huge Gainsbourg kick lately (both Serge and Charlotte, whose IRM record with Beck is tremendous) and when Initials BB came on the CD player in the car today, I knew I had to draw Bardot as a tribute.

hourly comics, and a burlesque lady.
here we are again... Last monday I tried to do Hourly Comics, but failed miserably. I only completed 5 hours of comics, after which I just got fed up because I found out I just had too little time to do what I wanted (the quality is shit). Read a lot of great books ( Walter Moers' City Of Dreaming Books is simply awesome) but I wanted to specifically mention The Art Of Osamu Tezuka: God Of Manga. Went to the Efteling theme park today, which contains lots of fairytale stuff based on drawings by Anton Pieck. Did a few drawings based on what I saw (pencil, Pitt Artist Pens, in a Moleskine sketchbook).

YYY, awesome Euro-comics art...
So, last week my girlfriend, two of our friends and I went to see Yeah Yeah Yeahs in Paradiso, Amsterdam. It was a pretty awesome show. Karen O has so much energy, it's insane. I think it's quite rare to see a singer smile so much on stage, it's a nice change.
