What next?

My hours just got cut at work. Significantly. I'm going from 8 hours a day, Mon - Fri, to 6 hours a day Mon - Thurs. 40 hours a week to 24 hours a week.

Woah, that's much. I have 30 (6 Mon - Fri), what's nice. But 40 to 2 is a tough cut. Did they explain the cut to you?

Here it currently happens often in the bigger companies due to the global finance crisis.

I'd sort of been expecting a cut for a while. But when it didn't happen I decided I was safe. The economy sucks for everybody. The bosses aren't making enough to pay the bills. They considered letting me go entirely, but decided not to do that. And I'll be able to keep my health insurance, which is nice.

So I'll be looking for a job - either something part time (in addition to the part time I already have) or a new job entirely.

I get they do that to pull through the crisis, but it still is somewhat worrying since nobody knows how they end up and how long it will long.

Best of lucks in finding something! Maybe it will even be a great change to try out something different additionally. Woah, I got my positive thinking back the last two minutes. Eh...sorry. :lol:

My boss is standing here complaining about the problems they've had getting the leather to match on the entire room full of new leather furniture they bought last summer. Yeah, last summer the income was better, but still. When you've just cut my income nearly in half, I don't really care that the leather love seat they sent from the same collection isn't the exact same shade as the rest of your entire room full of leather furniture. Yes, she's a friend, and I get it that this sucks for her. But her timing leaves something to be desired. *sigh*

I've been told often enough that my face always gives away exactly what I'm thinking, but as far as I could tell she totally did not pick up on my "you've gotta be kidding me!"

Thanks! I think I'm going to look for something else full time. I'll take part time somewhere else if I can find it sooner, but I'll keep looking for something else full time. Working 3 part time jobs is going to suck!
