As some of you may know, I've been taking my fitness level very seriously since Meredith passed. Since she's been gone (approximately 4 months, 1 week, and 1 day), I've been close to fanatical about my workouts and nutrition. I try to eat 6 times per day and work out 6 times per week. Typically, it's about 5 of each, but my I'm very careful not ( Read more... )

Nice job on the run, and those traffic lights are indeed a momentum-killer.

It seems difficult, but once you get into the swing of things, it's actually quite easy. Veggie products are your friends :D. Two morningstar veggie corndogs (which actually taste like the real thing) = 300 calories and 14 grams of protien. Kosher turkey hot dogs 3 = 300 calories and 18 grams of protein. A veggie burger, bun, lettuce and tomato = ~ 300 calories and ~ 22 grams of protein (depending on the burger, and bun you select). You also drink lots of water, which aside from curbing your apetite has other health benefits.

I'm not sure what Aymui would do if you started eating like me :p. She seems to take pride in cooking such amazing things...

If you're really interested, I would strongly recommend Eating For Life. It's got some great recipes in there as well. I don't have time as single dad to do much cooking, so I look to lots of prepackaged stuff, but perhaps that's the sort of guidelines Ayumi would need :).

As long as you're being healthy, getting the vitamins, and, dare I hope, sleeping? Please tell me you're sleeping...

I'd be lying if I said I was, but it has nothing to do with the workouts... In Minneapolis I sleep better than when I am in DC, but not all that great. I was never a good sleeper to begin with (and I take a vitamin supplement, but it's quite unnecessary, the protein bars/shakes are formulated for maximum nutrition).
