Pondering Friendships

I talked with an old friend from DC yesterday and I was surprisingly hurt by the recalling of an old situation. To make a long story short, I slept with a friend in our friendship circle and when he mistreated me, I moved on from the circle of friends ( Read more... )

(( hugs )) Ruthie, I don't know the answer to your question.

I think you just have to trust that you've learned important lessons from those past mistakes and be open to the fact that finding friendship is more important than the possibility of being hurt again.

And I think you have to let yourself be irritated with people, and forgive yourself a little. I think it's common among intense people. We make strong connections, and then they kind of burn out.

DC is miles away, literally and figuratively. I'd just let those people simmer over there, and try not to give them too much thought. Don't know if that helped. BTW, who wrote their "friend" entry first? What a coincidence!
