YOU SO GOOD TO ME MY LOVELY fivestepsahead March 19 2011, 16:57:02 UTC
[ He's been spending most of the time since everything exploded helping out Dick and Tim with their makeshift infirmary. But they've gone to help someone, and he stays back for a moment more before rushing out as well, striding down the doorway to follow them- it's not the lack of trust, but the sheer uncertainty of the situation. There's no saying what can happen.

His utility belt is slung across his waist, half-hidden beneath the loose, wide hem of his shirt. There's no way that he'll be unarmed in this situation even though wearing the cape and cowl is... unadvisable right now. What's the use of all the equipment in the Cave - in his cabin - if he's not going to use them?

And that's when he sees the creature out of the corner of his eye. Bruce immediately shifts, body moving to a combat ready position as he moves towards it. Slowly forward. ]

[Hell naw, the symbiote doesn't play it slow. As Bruce readies himself for a fight, the creature leaps with a snarl, claws-first. Whether it's going to pin him or tear him to shreds is anybody's guess.]

[ When the thing attacks, Bruce moves immediately, reaching an arm out to block- whatever it is from reaching anywhere that's even more vulnerable. Gritting his teeth, he twists, practically throwing the man over his own head while his fist goes for his abdomen, aiming to punch. ]

[Its claws latch onto the arm, digging into it, then the symbiote lets out a surprised shriek as it's hauled up and punched. Still, it reacts quickly, its feet lashing out to kick Bruce right in his smug, vigilante head as it's flipped over the man. And, thanks to the spider-reflexes, it's pretty easy for the symbiote to quickly roll and stand again once it hits the ground. You know what this calls for? Some webbing. Enjoy the evil Spider-Man-thing shooting thick, black webbing at you.]

[ He's seen a fighting style like this once, but it's not coming to mind right now. Besides, it's not important- he's more concerned with reacting at the moment - the kick lands, but he rolls away from it so it doesn't take off his head. The thing is strong - that much he can judge - and he barely manages to roll away, hand slapping against the ground, as the webbing shoot towards him.

That's unexpected. This thing- it's certainly alien, but based on some sort of a spider? Bruce's head is analyzing while his fingers dip into his utility belt, pulling out a smoke bomb at the thing's face. It goes off with a sharp pop followed by a much softer hsst, and Bruce takes the time that the thing should be blinded to dart forward, leg aiming to kick at the ribs.

The force would be hard enough to crush the bones of a normal man. ]

[Venom screeched in displeasure as the smoke obscured its vision, and it looked up, about to make a break for the ceiling to escape the smoke, when its opponent connected into its ribs with a vicious kick. Painful, enough to break its host if not for the symbiote's protection, but it had taken hits as bad as from Spider-Man without any injury. Still, it hurt, and it knocked the creature back. It retaliated as soon as it regained its balance, striking with a swift backhand before shooting a rope of web to the ceiling to climb back up there. It was time to move this fight somewhere where the symbiote had more space for attack, more objects to grab and bludgeon the enemy with. It may have looked like a retreat, but really, it was angling for a chase.]

[ The kick makes his toes ache slightly, but it proves to him that the thing is superhuman- the physical form is very much humanoid, but that doesn't prove anything. He barely manages to dodge the backhand - the claws leave a cut on his cheek, oozing blood- but he barely notices, eyes narrowing as he watches the symbiote leave.

If it's truly escaping, he wouldn't have done it at that moment, in the middle of an unfinished battle when Bruce has not even managed to dent his armour. It's obviously a chase, but he follows anyway, drawing a batarang out of his belt. He has to stop it from hurting anyone else, after all.

Then, he runs forward, aiming to overtake it and throwing the batarang at it - it's an explosive, but he needs to aim properly so he doesn't take out the better part of the wall. ]

Bruce did throw it, right, not just aimed? HOPE I DIDN'T MISREAD THE TAG. symbiotastic March 21 2011, 15:20:56 UTC
[It races across the ceiling-- bounding on all fours like an animal-- down the corridor, with one destination in mind: the kitchen. Knives, pans, and other everyday items that could be used to stab, bludgeon and beat its enemy into submission. Well. Not so much "submission" as "a bloody pulp." With its keen vision, it spots Bruce moving ahead, and as the vigilante hurls something at it-- a boomerang?-- it shoots its webbing out at the weapon, intending to swing the projectile right back at its owner. Too bad the symbiote doesn't know it's explosive, and that it should've probably tried to throw the batarang further away, rather than in its nearby vicinity.

[ The little button on the batarang flashed red for a moment, and Bruce ducks his head down, turning away, ducking his head down and covering it with an arm. The thing explodes outwards, the force of the blast shaking the pots and pants around him until it's all a cacophony of sound from all directions.

His ears are ringing just a little. ]

[The force of the explosion knocks Venom back, and it loses its bearing, crash landing on the stove before falling to the ground in a heap, writhing and screaming. The cacophany is unbearable to the symbiote, to the point where it desperately tries to escape even while it's host body is cringing against the sounds. It stretches outward, pulling away from Brock's screaming face before settling back down again as the noise stops. It turns to Bruce, rising to its feet, and reaches out to grab him and pull him forward-- not with its arms, but with its self, tendrils striking out with the aim of coiling around the man.]

[ That's interesting. He wonders if it's the loud noise or the loud flash that has the- thing retreating from a human face. A very familiar human face. Bruce has been looking through conversations as much as he can, and as far as remember- this man is Eddie Nygma's inmate.

It explains some things. Like why it seems to be gunning for him directly, for one.

Bruce avoids the tendrils, backpedalling as much as possible- and he's heading for where the pots and pans are kept, grabbing two of them. And he's getting as close to the thing as he can before he smashes the two together, the sound loud enough to make his own ears ring.

Now, will that have the effect, or will he have to use more explosives to create a flash? ]

[Growling as its tendrils missed the mark, the symbiote pulls the tentacles back into itself and hurls a nearby appliance at the man-- sorry, Barge, one of the microwaves is down for the count. Without waiting to see if it even hits the mark, the creature rushes forward to pounce its prey, claws extended. It wants to sink its talons into his flesh, tear him apart, but the clanging of the pans startles it, causes it to recoil again, causing its form to lose some of its consistency, tendrils lashing out in all directions out of reflex.]

[ His instincts scream a warning but he's a little too slow to react - he doesn't know exactly how this enemy works, and he doesn't twist away fast enough. A few tendrils flails against his arms, his sides, leaving slim wounds behind that immediately start to bleed. He barely notices, more concentrated on the fact that noise seems to defeat the thing.

Well, this is not even in the top ten most ridiculous thing he has ever done.

Transferring both pots to one hand, he slips his hand into his belt and brings out two ear plugs. He wears them immediately- at the same time, his other hand is clanging the pots, but the moment the plugs are in he smashes them together as hard as he can.

And he does it again, and again, and again. ]

[The symbiote's thrashing, howling in agony as the noise continues to assault its senses. It twists and contorts, reeling back from the source of the noise. The downside is: the symbiote's extending upwards, growing in size, like it's steeling itself to lash out and silence Bruce permanently. The upside? The more it stretches, the more exposed its host becomes. Really, knocking Eddie upside the head will take care of the alien.]

[ And he's already aiming to do that. It's apparent enough that the monstrous thing is attached to and reliant upon the human figure, and Bruce narrows his eyes slightly. He darts forward, and the tendrils are slower than bullets- he's outrun bullets before- then he's punching Brock in the face. Hard.

Enough to break it. ]
