LiveJournal's so boring. It's a great concept, but I took a break from it and then tried to get back into it, and I've come to the conclusion that it just isn't worth it. Sorry.

Wow. I was just practicing holding my stick in traditional grip. I went up to hit the practice pad hard (because usually when I hit hard, the stick moves around in my hand) I accidentally hit my thumb with the tip of the stick. And let me tell you. IT HURTS.

I now have a bruise under my right thumbnail.

Ouch.

Today I came to the conclusion that I get my work ethic from my mom, not my dad. She works hard, and she's very businesslike (professional), but she doesn't like to do anything that doesn't come natural to her. I'm the same way. It's the reason I left my job. So Joshua made me a CD with tons of cool double-bass stuff to practice. I have come to the realization that I cannot play any of it. Nothing makes me feel like a worse musician than to sit down for two hours and still not be able to run at 180 bpm ( Read more... )
