Small breakfast before the running might be a good idea methinks.

True, but I'd need to run at least an hour after a small breakfast so as to not get side stitches or other unpleasantnesses. (Day of last year's half marathon, I got up at six (for a ten a.m. start) just to eat and then use all that time to quietly panic.)

It's not easy being unorganised. Will try at least a banana next week. Or run in the afternoon or sth., but that's much too logical.

ah, I see. It's complicated, this running lark. Sugar drinks? Those isotonic gels? To stop the faintness I mean.

That is a very sensible idea. Though, from what I've heard about the gels, one would probably have to be very... unique to want to eat them for breakfast.
