Came back from today's 15K run. 1:40, if you must know (I keep telling myself that the long runs are meant to be slow). Also had a look through my training log from last year and apparently my long runs were a little longer BUT I only had seven runs total for May, or 83,5K. What. It's only the 8th and I've got five already, or 52,5K ( Read more... )

Hurrah for breakfast! Not so much hurrah for the constant aching. Is the idea that eventually muscles develop so massively that they don't hurt any more?

I think the idea is: 1 long slow run for building distance. 1 fast run/ intervals etc. for building speed (like that works). 2 normal runs that I can't explain so easily but I'm sure they have a point and I don't think they're the problem. At least 2x weight training so my knee is happy (should probably be more, but I don't know when). Wednesday is free \o/

It'd probably be less painful if I didn't up the mileage almost every week, but alas that's the whole point. But then it's only been three weeks or so :D
