Deathly Hallows.

So, people, now that we know the release date of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it's time for a poll:

Poll Deathly Hallows.

Please do this? Especially the first two questions. I'd reeeeeeally appreciate it. I have an idea for something that depend on these answers.

EDIT: WHAT ABOUT A FIVE CHAPTER PER DAY DISCUSSION?

book 7, poll, harry potter

07/07/07 would have been the perfect release date.

I think it was all just rumors. Still, you think she could have pulled some strings and gotten them to release the book two weeks sooner. Barring that, she could have at least aimed for Harry's Birthday. It makes me wonder if there's anything significant about July 21st, because JKR tends to put a lot of emphasis on the smallest details.

Yeah, you're right.

Well, anyway, it's her book and I guess that date is meaningful ot her or something.

Going to try to read it whenever I have free moments, but it certainly won't be finished in a matter of hours. Number one, while I don't read slowly, I can't read that fast either. And number two, I have a 9-5-ish sort of job year round. Alas, if I were only a student again...

*grins* I can assure you that the same thing will happen to me, wheter I try and resist or not.

God, of course I don't mind! I put it there so people would get here and vote. That was the purpose of it, darling :)

I answered other in the first question, because I would definitely be tempted to read it as soon as possible, even if that involved not sleeping or other sort of things, but knowing that it's the final book, I would limit myself to a few chapters a day. I know I won't last more than three, four or five days at most.
On the other hand, I'd go insane with one chapter a day, my mind wouldn't tolerate it.

I always recognise your username as 'the other argentinean, whee'. Is that odd?

Though when I got HBP I managed to force myself to read it over the course of two days -- and I mean force -- I don't think I can do that with Deathly Hallows. And though the idea of a day-by-day community sounds charming, I'm too paranoid; this book, this one book, I would like to read the way I read GOF, with absolutely no idea of what was coming. If something was set up the way TGB was last year -- with different posts for different chapters (and screened comments? I can't remember if that was true), I would do that, because discussing-as-you-read is an awesome idea, but I couldn't do one where it was day-by-day, because I don't want to wait that long to finish it. I don't want to have that much opportunity to be "spoiled", because it's going to happen; it's going to be plastered all over the internet, random men will drive by opening-night parties and scream it at children, people at work will tell me, etc, etc.

Yep. Especially if it's the last book -- I'm pretty sure it will be impossible to read it throughly and clamly without knowing what is going to happen next because some idiot told you.

It was screened comments, but no one I remember took part of those as everyone was too busy reading the book and was too scared to go near the computer.
