I reach for the unsightly old weeds. Their ancient bleached skeletons break off in my leather gloved hand. Their wizened frostbitten roots remain embedded in the nurturing soil. They are dead. I made a Chocolate Cake today- from scratch with of course REAL frosting.
Greg had Betty Crocker frosting in the refrigerator.
Bryce: "I tried it. It tastes like crap! How old is that stuff?"
I told him that it was not old. That is how it really tastes.
"I guess that's because I've had the real thing."

I hate grocery shopping. Why don't we just flush the money down the toilet?

So it begins...
Bryce has been asleep all day. He could not be roused for anything. Mandy came running in when he got up about 10 minutes ago hollering for me to see him quick.
He is now at least 1/2 inch taller than he was yesterday. He is claiming an inch. He can reach higher things.
He looks thinner too.
The growth spurt has begun

So flippin' tired. On 2.5 hours of sleep. Bryce has slept the day away. Chicken tenders in the oven- MOTY award!
I worked last night and am on again tomorrow day shift. I may make it to 7pm before crashing out.

Who knew? Bryce is crazy for Creedence Clearwater Revival. He begged me to get "Up Around The Bend" and when he heard others on iTunes he went slightly beserk- his wording. We ended up getting the entire Chronicle- 20 Greatest Hits Album. I swear I am going to go broke over iTunes. -
Mandolin's eyes
Mandy’s eyes scare me sometimes. They are too many colors and too moody. Sometimes they are the sea after a storm and sometimes misty distant rain. Often they sparkle with the kaleidoscope of a thousand images reflected back at me. Sometimes I just like to stare at them.
How can she see only what I see with those eyes?

I love DI
I almost forgot. I scored some clothes for the Mandolin at DI today. For $20 we got a pair of jeans, a pair of shoes, 2 camis and 2 sweaters. She looks like a million bucks because she is a fashionista and has spectactular taste. Everyone should take her shopping. She knows what will look good even as it is on the rack. -
