I'm really in need of a haircut. I had my hair cut by my favorite hairdresser last May, and then waited a long time (almost 6 months) for my next cut. I didn't drive down to my regular hairdresser but tried a new one in Wisconsin, with, *ahem* less than satisfactory results. Maaaybe. I thought I might want to find one closer to home, since my last one was in Clarendon Hills, but I really don't want a crappy haircut.

I tend to have good luck when the salon also has a school attached with it. For example, I like Linea hair salon in glen ellyn.

I bet you could find reviews online for hair salons, that's what I did last year and it worked out.

Also, I know price doesn't mean better, but generally a good haircut will go for 40 bucks or over around where I live (and where I live now in Chicago---starting prices are like 80) so don't go for a bargain haircut. Not that I thought you would...but just wanted to say.

I totally agree about not getting a bargain cut. I think it's truly a case of you get what you paid for. My last hairstylist was a little pricey, but her work was always amazing and absolutely worth it.

Renee at Frank Giranda (next to Dominick's) at 75th and Naper. She cut my hair from 1987 until 2003 when I went away for college. She's only there a few days a week last I knew so it may be tough getting a quick appointment.
