I bet you could find reviews online for hair salons, that's what I did last year and it worked out.
Also, I know price doesn't mean better, but generally a good haircut will go for 40 bucks or over around where I live (and where I live now in Chicago---starting prices are like 80) so don't go for a bargain haircut. Not that I thought you would...but just wanted to say.

I totally agree about not getting a bargain cut. I think it's truly a case of you get what you paid for. My last hairstylist was a little pricey, but her work was always amazing and absolutely worth it.
