Something amazing is happening to me. I'm experience change more quickly than I ever have in my life. Ok, I don't really remember or had the self-awareness in my formative years to compare those, but I don't mean developmental change: I mean spiritual change. serious stuff
Some movies just make you think. Scott and I just got back from watching Captain Phillips which was really well done. While not apologizing or excusing violence, it notes that people from poor areas who have no livelihood have fewer choices. When the rich flaunt their wealth, envy or resentment from the poor is a natural byproduct. Think of people ( Read more... ) -
thoughts of winter and update
I notice little updates about what I do in life and fun stuff go on facebook or face to face chit-chat. Serious stuff goes in my journal. A friend said my journal was very serious which is ironic because I often am not. I love to joke and have fun most of the time. This is a place for me to vent and think things through. hubby sad?
Both last night and this morning, Scott seemed melancholy and quiet. Two days ago, he was frustrated and hurt over his family not accepting an offer to meet us in Pennsylvania in July for vacation. Sometimes he notices distance in their relationships, and says he can't blame them since he's been gone for 18 years but it still hurts him. I know he's ( Read more... ) -

I work out in the morning, then come home to begin a partial day of worked. I stopped long ago trying to get a full 8 hours in. When I tried, I learned that I would avoid and procrastinate for much of it anyway, the way people do in an office. it's because of how much I dislike some aspects of what I must do. After last night, I'm starting to wonder how many people who come across really sweet are actually just sensitive, afraid to say the wrong thing, and who take half of what I say in offense. I find that any week I miss my internship, I end up feeling sad and lonely. I spent the last week on vacation, spending plenty of quality time with my dad and my husband, so why should this be? Wendy is gone
Two days ago my father called me to tell me his wife, Wendy, died after a lot of medical trouble including many seizures. She had died 4 days prior. He sounded pretty good, actually, although he admitted to being a mess directly afterwards and having dazes while driving only to realize he didn't know where he was. SAN DIEGO
There is a slot open in San Diego and only 2 people who are ready to transfer who qualify. Scott is one of them. The recruiter asked if he wanted the slot and he wasn't sure. Apparently, the ship saw who the two available sailors are and decided they wanted Scott. Yesterday we saw an email from the command on that ship to Scott's command asking if ( Read more... )
