I finally got my visa! After a few tears, more flight changes, and the help of the visa officer (which at first glance appeared mean, but actually helped me out as fast as possible), it's in my passport. Whew. Now the adventure can officially begin. I have permission to work there. :-)

Despite the fact that I have rather splurged and spoiled myself recently with the number of plane tickets I've been buying (ehehehe, who needs money anyway, right?...err....), I always get really excited when I hit the "purchase" button. So vacation is over, the girls are back at school, despite Matilde's best intentions to stay home (she managed Friday, and I took care of the poor, sick child all day long....she's not even that good at pretending to be sick!). Wow, It's nice to have time off. Went to Zurich last weekend, didn't sleep or eat much, but drank beer, met people, and enjoyed a nice street parade...er...techno party. Oh, and I got stuck in an elevator with 11 other people for 15 minutes, but that's not really that exciting. I also made a one year old cry just by staring at her....everyone ( Read more... )

So today I'm supposed to be in New York, at the French consulate, getting a visa... But instead I'm in Zurich, hanging out with three of my good friends. Life is funny sometimes.

Well, I always complain about how boring it is to sit at the beach every day at Santa Margherita (I know, you're all glaring at me, but honestly, I hate sitting still....worse, having to get up every 10 minutes to track down Matilde, get her to do this, do that, etc. so it looks like I'm actually working....). Ok, now that I kind of have internet, I can do a quick update. Life has been very exciting, ever since May. I finished my thesis (34 pages plus endnotes = 38), took my final final exam ever, graduated, and slept.
