So...I went to bed late last night because I figured we'd have a snow day today....WRONG!!!! Almost everyone did, but not Hazel Park. Now, normally that would be okay, except that my street and much of Dequindre was not plowed. This week has sucked. I hate word study cards. I cut out and sorted 360 of them today for a 30 minute lesson. This is not the first of it this week either. It took me 6 hours tonight, and part of it was while I was watching the OC. I don't do anything when I am watching the OC. From now on, the kids will have to do their own. So, my students did an awesome job on the unit 2 math test today! 15 of my students received A's!!! Then I had about 5 B's 2 C's 4 D's, and only one E. I am really happy about it, and so proud of them. Furthermore, I feel more confident in my teaching (for math anyway) as I really thought I drilled these concepts into their 4th grade brains, ( Read more... )

SOoooooooooooo NOT in the mood for writing any of the papers which are due for my class. Anyway, I have taken over math in my 4th grade class, and I love being the "real teacher." Do you rememeber when everyone drank "Surge?" What ever happened to that stuff anyway? They even had Surge flavored slurpees at 7-11. Wasn't there something called "Kick" briefly which was like Mt Dew but with more caffeine until Surge came out which had the most caffeine ( Read more... )
