On Monday morning, our cat, Onyx, lost a month long battle with feline infectious peritonitis. He was less than two years old.

We made the decision to euthanize him after he had a seizure while in the vet hospital. He had been going quickly downhill ever since early in the morning, waking up between us in a panic because he was trying to get to ( Read more... )

Ryan and I have been going back and forth about whether or not Onyx seems to be doing better.  Sometimes it seems like he's on the mend, but other times, he's obviously weak and moves around like he's just terribly uncomfortable, lying motionless but unable to sleep, his eyes just wide open and staring.

Our little kitty has been given a probable (since it can't really be certain) diagnosis of an almost-always fatal disease.  We're really broken up about it: he's a young cat (less than two years) and we've only had him since September, which is just enough time to get really fucking attached but not enough to feel like we've had anything ( Read more... )
