I am sitting at work and I randomly found this article from May 13, 1955 taken from a magazine called Housekeeping Monthly. I thought it was very interesting..pay close attention to the bold parts I highlighted.

The good wife's guide:

-Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return.
