We went to Knuckleheads last night, a crazy biker bar by the railroad tracks, in the deepest part of the KC industrial bottoms. We had tickets to see Todd Snider, who was incredible, playing with his producer, Will Kimbrough. It was a great show! We holed up all weekend in the turret house, nursing beers from the kegerator and eating pizza. The outside world is glare ice, covered with deceptively pleasant snow. Over a month ago, i got a near fatal case of chiggers. I'm still scratching. It's bloody awful really, all these scabs and itchy spots. I have to wear tights to my pilates class to hide the seeping wounds. I will never go hiking in Arkansas again without shoes or pants... What was i thinking?
