would it be at all possible to board the dogs somewhere for a few days, or just during the day while you're at work?
you could prolly work something out with a vet's office (idk if i would use the regular vet, unless you made it VERY clear that you are the only one who can pick them up) or with a pet sitting service/doggie daycare.
anything valuable needs to take a trip to the bank or a storage facility that you have no previous ties to, and i would consider setting up webcams facing the door(s) and checking on them a couple of times every hour, if you can get them set up.
i wish i could board them --but it was *complete* disaster the last time i tried -- dobler turned into a snarly, vicious protector-type dog and wouldn't let anyone anywhere near him and bronx. and, i can't afford $60 a day for that either. :(
ugh, webcams? i have no idea how to even START doing that! i actually don't think he can get in through the doors -- he doesn't have keys and all th doors have deadbolts. i'm more worried abou thim breaking in through a window...
i love you too -- i'll be as careful as careful can be. and the next time he shows up on the porch, i'm not even opening the door, i'm headed straight for the phone.
....wow.... I don't know, what are the stalking laws like there? It can't hurt to try, and then there would at least be a paper trail that you'd tried, should anything more obnoxious happen down the line. Also if you do call the cops the next time he shows up, he'll know you mean business, and it will also contribute to this paper trail. You're afraid now, and that means it's time to bring in the law.
Do you have any burly male friends who might be able to hang out with you when you get worried? That could be a deterrent, maybe.
yeah -- they wouldn't normally do anything unless i was in immediate physical danger -- but after the events of today, i shouldn't have any trouble getting one.

Since you have some valid concerns over property damage & dognapping it may be easier to get an emergency restraining order.
