[There are the usual scary decorations, food and beverage tables, and dance floor. Anything else is up to you all. Feel free to have your characters enter at any time and please include their costume descriptions.]

Millie and Mike walked into the party a bit after 7.

"I still don't know why I couldn't be Batman," Mike grumbled.
"Ay, you got to be Batman when we took the kids trick-or-treating," Millie rolled her eyes. "The whole neighborhood still thinks you're Batman. And I let you pick your non-Batman costume. I thought you were pretty happy with it."

Mike grunted, but then looked at his costume with a bit of satisfaction. He was dressed as Julius Caesar and any time he could get away with wearing a sheet in public was a good time.

Millie was dressed to match as Cleopatra.

"Mami, can I go see my friends?" Isabel, dressed as Dora the Explorer (with leggings underneath her shorts) asked.

"Hang on," Millie said. "I don't want you to get lost." She let Kit, who was dressed like Dora's sidekick Boots, down. He immediately toddled (carefully, since he'd just learned to walk) to Isa and grabbed her hand.

Isa smiled. "Kitten you are Boots and I am Dora. So you will go with me."

"Boooos." Kit said softly. "Do'a." He pointed to Isabel.

Claire, dressed as a housewife, comes over with a little lobster walking in front of her holding both hands.

Millie saw them and grinned. "Hey, you guys!" She went over and put a hand under Zoe's chin. "Lookit you, how cute!"

Zoe smiled and squealed at the attention. "She enjoys dressing up for some reason," Claire added.

Jeff came into the party with a sigh. He'd spent the day doing nothing important really but waiting. He looked around the group for someone to talk to giving his costume one last adjustment.

Nearby, Connie was talking to her friend Nima, who was dressed as a vampire. Nima was holding Tommy, giving Connie a chance to rest her arms.

When Connie saw Jeff, she waved at him. "Hey, Bennett!"

Jeff gave a wave and made his way toward Connie and her friend. He smiled at them,"Happy Halloween ladies."

"You, too," Connie squeezed Jeff's arm when he reached them. "Jeff, this is Nima Rakkar. She's an ADA out in Queens. Nima--this is Jeff Bennett. He's a Homicide ADA."

Nima grinned. "You Homicide folks are a fun lot, I hear."

"No one is going to make fun of your costume," Val attempted to reassure Brian Cassidy as they entered the Halloween, "I really think that pirate idea is fool-proof,"

"I hope your right," Brian didn't look like he completely believed Val.

David walked past Brian with an, "Aaarrrrrr."

Mocking, of course.

Brian whirled around. "Oh, whatever."

Val glares at David.

After taking Ellie to see her grandparents and show off her ballerina outfit, Alex and David finally brought her to this party. Alex's outfit was pretty impressive - The Queen of Hearts - next to David's outfit of NYPD Internal Affairs Officer.

Himself. Or so he would have you believe. There's a surprise under his shirt.

Kit, who'd only learned to walk in the last week, toddled carefully over to where Alex, David and Ellie stood, peeking back at where his mother stood every so often. Millie watched him, not too far away, grinning as Kit went on his way "alone."

He stopped in front of Alex and smiled shyly, waving.

"Well, hello you." Alex kneeled down to Kit's level. She gave him a soft grin.

Ellie stared at him.

Kit giggled. "Hi. Keey-yee."

"Keey-yee" was how he said "Kitty."

Zach was pretty darn proud of himself this year. He'd considered going overboard with a spectacular costume of nonsense as he tended to get distracted when shopping for such things. But, he came to a logical conclusion. He's tall, lanky, gets lost easily. Yep. Zach Nichols dressed up as Waldo.

Besides, he figured pretty ladies will come up to him to declare that they found Waldo. Or drunk Munch. Oh well, maybe he'll be lucky enough to avoid the latter.

"Watch out, I found Waldo," Millie declared, before taking a drink of punch.
Isabel looked at her like she was crazy. "Mami, that is Zach," she said, finally pronouncing Nichols' name correctly.
