Who wants a layout?

In the past, I've offered special layouts as gifts or giveaways, and there's always the possibility to trade something for a layout.

But what if there's no special offer going on, and you don't have anything to trade?

Tell me what you like. Whether you know exactly what you want, or you aren't sure, we'll work something out. If you can find journals to use as examples (I like her font, I like his placement, etc.), that's great. I can combine pieces like that, or I can come up with something with you.

Hey -- thanks so much for noticing.

I wasn't sure about your policy of people editing styles for other people, so I decided it was a lot safer to go with saying I wouldn't. Thanks a ton for clarifying that.

I probably will not be using or tweaking your styles on LJ, because none of my accounts are paid. I modified one of your basic styles (#6, I think) for use on my GJ, but I think that's about all I'll do until I get a paid account on LJ (if I ever do).

Thanks so much for noticing and clarifying this. This might be inappropriate to bring up here, but I really love the stuff you do, and I really respect you and your patience for continuing to work with the "liek omg help plzz!1!!" crowd. If there's anything I can do for you -- modding, helping, running interference, even designing if I get a paid account -- I'd be glad to.

I was linked here from my community ljstyles and
I was reading your questions for a layout request and was pretty confused by them.
I don't consider myself to be stupid and I personally I don't think anyone but maybe the biggest geeks (geeks meaning smart) would know them and in that case if they can answer these questions then they can probably just make their own layouts.
Maybe you should make them a little easier if your really interested in making layouts for people?
But maybe your point was for people to not be able to answer them or at least a very small handful.

No, I'm definitely interested in making layouts for people. Remember, these questions can be answered by using Google or by using any other resource, so that makes it a lot easier.

I have two good reasons for having people answer these questions:

(1) If you know these without resorting to Google, then you are so much like me that I'd love you if I knew you. I want to encourage people like you to exist, so I will make you a layout to make your life a little happier.

(2) If you don't know these, then you can resort to Google. It means a little work, yeah, but not as much work as it will take me to make your layout. I make people answer these questions because I don't want them to take layouts or my work for granted.

I make layouts too and I know how you feel.
It's like people don't really understand how much work goes into making layouts.
We're talking hours sometimes..most the time for me anyways because I'm a perfectionist.
Not saying I do them perfect but I try really hard.

I just make a butt load of public styles and offer them to people.
I shy away from custom work because I like to make what I like. I don't like to go by a set list.
So if people wanna edit them COOL..I don't really wanna do it for you though.

I do offer help when asked and I get asked ALOT.
Usually from people I don't know...and even sometimes from greatestjournal.com and i don't even have a journal there!

All shes really wanting to do with the questions, I gather, is to make us realize that how long it takes us just to find the aswers is not how long it will take her to do the layout.
I googled a few of them and found most of the answers. It really wasnt that hard.
