Work and being simultaneously creative and proactive are rather at odds it seems. At the exponentially slowing rate that I'm posting these my next piano improv will get posted in 10-20 years. I'm rather hoping it takes less than that, but we'll see. At least my gear has improved since last time. Steady employment will do that.

2007-04-20Haven't been feeling super creative as far as doing the piano thing is concerned. Too much work, not enough sleep makes being creative darn tough. But I did get the chance to tune the piano a bit more and upgrade my recording gear, which made this a nice change of pace. 2007-03-14Delayed massively this time. Who'da thought that I'd have less time after I managed to become employed. I've fallen behind schedule a bit, but I suspected this will happen. This particular improv is simply one of my favorite polytonal patterns - it never resolves, but it's still quite dynamic. A few nasty notes, but not bad, it's one direction that I may indulge in every once in awhile.

I actually really like this one - it was a first take true cold improv, and it came out much more like a formed song than I could reasonably hope for. Hi Everyone. Here's something a little different - I tried to do a 'no-pedal' song to see how well it held up. What it turned into was a bouncy little thing (thought in this version I fall back on the pedal once) that kind of speaks of my background in video game-y music. Or maybe it was just that I ate some biscuits. Who knows?

Didn't like this one so much - it doesn't capture the heart of the matter like I wanted, but it works okay. I did a better take, but the microphone wasn't on (well, it's a little more complicated than that, but that was the end effect). Such is life.
