I actually had the same problem with water, and I have acid reflux anyway, so the extra irritation was no fun (plus it's fucking water, and nobody on earth believes a person who says they can't handle water [sometimes these cretins even say, "That idea don't hold water," and then you get in trouble for assaulting them, which is of course wildly unfair

If you haven't tried it yet, keep a "food journal" for a month or so. Take note of other pertinent things as well--like when flare-ups happen and/or if there are any behavioral issues that could be compounding the problem (e.g. irregular sleeping or eating patterns). If there *is* a pattern, this'll make it that much more apparent. It can often also be very helpful for your doctor.
Another piece of advice is eating smaller meals more frequently. Also, slow down your eating. Those two things cause a flare-up with both my father and hubby every single time. Avoid skipping meals...as well as greasy/fried food, fatty foods and caffeine. Reduce your stress. Reiterates the bit about exercising.
Hopefully it clears up quickly.
As for the sushi, maybe you are just getting a little burnt out on it?
Hmm, I might look into the journal thing... probably skip it for Otakon, though, because who knows, right?
Or not, I don't know. I guess with my iPhone, it should be easy enough to keep tabs.
Incidentally, my sleeping patterns are always irregular... even when they're not. XD
Hmm, smaller meals more frequently... that would be quite a change. It's typically one or two meals and snacks. Any advice for how to slow down? I don't really try to rush... I just bite, chew, swallow, repeat.
Stress... well, that should be reduced rather soon, I hope. I don't get too much caffeine as it is... mostly whatever is in a Diet Pepsi (now Nadia, there's someone to talk to about caffeine...).
Thanks for the tips, and as for the sushi... I hope not! It's not like I eat it that frequently! D=
Actually, if there's a time you're going to be eating something you wouldn't normally or that your schedule would be all akimbo it would be during vacation. Like you said, you have a phone with a notepad

I guess maybe I should start eating more independently of Nadia, since she tends to dictate when we eat and such... unfortunately, this also leads to a lot of late meals.
On the cucumber thing: I love cucumber and watermelon, but the taste of water isn't the problem; the water here in Toronto is terrific, including the tap water (this coming from someone who grew up with tap water that was virtually undrinkable unless you froze the taste away). But when I drink more of it, that's when I get the problems.
