Baby Blankets
Just finished up a couple of baby blankets for a friend's baby shower this weekend. I've never done a quilting project before, so it's a little surprising they turned out as nice as they did. Both blankets are made out of flannel, with a layer of low-loft batting in between. Both blankets are roughly...45" x 60"? Whatever "crib size" is.

More Kittens!
Three more kittens came in on Thursday--two male b&w and a female calico. This group is a bit younger than the rest, but they should still be ready to go before we leave on vacation. Right now though they're a little hard to photograph ( Read more... ) -
ALPACAS!
Apparently everything happened downtown last Saturday and to go along with said everything a farm had brought in several of their alpacas.

It's me, Axl! Again!
It's been a couple of months and Axl is several inches longer, wartier, and his spots are coming in. He's also much, much fatter. So much so that I'm beginning to wonder if "he" isn't a "she." Of course, it's still way too early to tell for sure but he's pretty round for a male regardless.

I am not a car person.
In fact, the things strike me as an amazing money-sink. A sort of society-induced punishment for not living in a large city.
Specifically, I hate car maintenance. I have never taken a car in for an oil/filter change and not have the mechanic find at least $300 more work that needed to be done. Ever. I have also never been ( Read more... ) -
Me, Axl!
It's been a few days now and Axl seems to have settled into the tank and into a routine. The Hikari carnivore pellets came in and he's taken really well to those. They smell like a bad fish restaurant, but they're easy to eat and they don't dissolve in the tank ( Read more... )
