Question of Great Importance!

Who likes food gifts for the holidays? Please answer and be honest!

I'm trying to think up gifts for people and I want to know if I go cooking up a storm, will it be gratefully, or obligingly, accepted.
If you do like food as a gift, do you have any caveats?

Food is a great gift. It shows you care.

See, that's what I think, too! But many a time I seem to get the "Oh, um, thanks" vibe when I give it. I thought it might just be me who thought food was a cool gift. I'm glad to know I was wrong!

If somebody sends me something I REALLY like - homemade fudge, for instance, or cookies - then I appreciate it. Some stuff.. not so much. Fortunately, my wife teaches and college students are always hungry. But do check for food sensitivities and diets. I sometimes freeze stuff I don't want to eat right away.

If it's not sugary stuff - for instance, if somebody made us a nice pan of veggie lasagna - I'd think I died and went to heaven.
