Apparently the rule of the apartment I am currently renting is: if I see a stray cat wandering around outside, it's probably a stray, or maybe belongs to someone up the street. However, if there is a cat trapped somewhere in the vicinity of my apartment, it belongs to my upstairs neighbor, regardless of who lives there ( Read more... )

Good news on the neighbors! They are moving out! Josh heard from our landlady that she was refusing to renew their lease. Apparently the guy went down to her office and started yelling about the potholes in our crappy mud pit of a driveway (something Josh and I just consider a fact of life, considering all the other things that are wrong with this place that haven't and will never be fixed - just the state of things) but she said he was overreacting like mad and yelling and cursing and she was pretty sure he was high on something (her words) and so she wouldn't be allowing them to renew.

I thought this meant we'd be stuck with them til December and free after that - great Christmas present for me and Josh - but apparently the "For Rent" sign out front that I *thought* was for our other neighbors, who are moving out in June, is actually for the upstairs guy who is moving out ASAP. So, hurray for small favors!

Fingers crossed that whoever moves in next, upstairs AND out back, will not be raging assholes. Fingers crossed.
