Walking on flat surfaces is a good way to start. Seriously. I was in no exercise mode about 5 years back, and I discovered that going for short walks every night around my reasonably flat and very pretty neighborhood was a good way to get my heart pumping. Get an IPod and put some good music in your ears. If you want to combine meditation and walking, try walking to kirtan (if you like kirtan). I'm a big fan of Deva Premal's "The Essence." It's peaceful and easy to sing along to.
Day 1: successful Woke up and did my breathing exercises. Drank 16 oz of water. Went to work (had 2 cups of coffee - bad me) and then had another 45 oz of water. Did my breathing exercises for 15 minutes after work. Then went for a 2 mile bike ride. Drank 16 oz. of water. Taking a short break - then chores.
Keeping the water intake up, caffiene intake down, and so far have had only 1 drink since we got back from vacation. Breathing exercises in the car to and from work yesterday and while my laundry was cooking today. Took a walk through town during the laundry adventure as well, and had a nice meditation session last night.
:-D
