i think that second paragraph is so beautiful. to me, alcohol always seemed... counter-revolutionary. i think one of the most important things in this life is to live from the heart. to walk by faith and just - do it. to love people 'cause God loves them, to travel through life outside of your comfort zone, and to take all your sufferings head-on, because they're part of your experience, too. i definitely think you have the balls to do that and that your heart definitely deserves some room to grow.
