My sister is coming to live with me part time. Without beating around the bush, the "thing" that is in my parent's house is targeting her. My mother works nights and my sister has been saying for a while that she can't wait to "get out of this house." Well, we all kind of thought it was because she was a typical teenager wanting to get out on ( Read more... )

I've thought about doing a sage smudging. I guess I'm overwhelmed with all the options. There's salt and incense and sand and garlic. Holy water, banishing rituals, and actually calling a professional. I want to do something for them that will help, or at least protect my sister while she's in the house, whether they are home or not.

Smudging alone is not going to do it if it's that powerful. If you want to try it, get a few people to do it with you. A small, pre-smudging ceremony may help ground everyone and make it more effective. While you're smudging with sage, state in a powerful, authoritative voice that the thing is not welcome there and that it is your space. Tell it go get the hell out. Don't be afraid to ask for help from any positive force in your life, whether it be God, Jesus, or any good spirit that might dwell in the house. When you feel you have smudged enough, burn sweetgrass to fill the holes with positive energy, or else you are just leaving an area for that thing to fill again.

One thing your sister can try is picturing a bright, protective light surrounding her. That usually kept our thing away from me. It could still scare me, but it couldn't touch me or fill me with as much dread and despair.

Craig is also experienced with stuff like this if you want to get his advice as well.
