No More Downer Days!

Our family has had so many problems recently, more than ever before, and I wonder if we're sitting on even more that just haven't become apparent yet.  But, my problems are so nothing compared to what has happened in Haiti.  The pictures.  I just can't believe the tragedy that has happened there.  If you don't already know, the Red Cross has a ( Read more... )

Eep! Is this your brother that I met? In any case, I'm so glad they caught it before it became more serious. I hope he recovers quickly!

Good news: I had a bunch of teens come to me last week and ask if they could make a library literary magazine of their fiction. I was all, "Um, SURE!" I was so glad they were interested in sharing their writing. And I think they'll get great feedback, which will hopefully make them interested in continuing it!

The magazine idea is a good one. We found that the first writing club we did in the fall was too much, so we're going to scale back and do more of the "getting started" writing exercises.

I can't remember which brother you met, but this is the one who lives north of Austin. And it's kind of bad timing because my mom is moving for the first time in over 30 years NEXT weekend! But on the other hand, it was such good luck to catch it.

I'm glad that your dad is adapting well. My grandmother, who was a total shrew, actually liked living in her nursing home. She was a social person and being around people suited her. I don't know how well it suited the people who had to live with her, but there you go. I think I'd get annoyed having so many people around all the time. I hope your dad is able to enjoy it.

*Hugs!*
