There are a few examples of why it's useful. Polls, confessions, and so on. But for "OMG YOU R T#H LOOZAR". not so much

that was a really good post, tis really interesting to see other people's points of view on that, especially someone from america.
people tend to stereotype americans a lot over here..
I thought the hate crime over here was bad, but when I realise what it's like in America, something hits home. I mean it's illegal to carry guns and even knives here, but the amount of crime involved with them both is high - so i wonder what it must be like in america where it is legal.
It scares me sometimes.
I think you're right though, when you say free to hate. People want freedom, but they tend to screw things up when they have it :(

I mean when you start getting a bunch of 17 year old boys throwing rocks and sticks at a 10 year old Arab girl, who is American by the way because she was born here, just because she is Muslim and Arab things do need to stop.

ugh.. that's just wrong, i didn't realise it got that bad.
isn't there anything in education system which says that they shouldn't do that kinda thing? we get equality of races etc drummed into us here (although to be fair a lot of people don't listen - there's still a lot of hate towards the germans because of the second world war for crying out loud!!)

I found you through Tammy Wilson's journal (I'll not call her by her married name for the moment; you know why), and was reading your posts.

This one is particularly awesome. Being a Latino, I get to hear so much about how "immigrants are ruining the economy", etc. Not only does that suck, but what's worse is that some of that talk is coming from people who have the nerve to call themselves liberal.

It's hard to find places online like forums and journals where I can read a differing opinion on the subject. In other words, thank you!
